On an Italian holiday in 1960, First Lady Jackie Kennedy was introduced to a flat sandal with whipstitched leather. Upon her return to Palm Beach, Jackie brought her newfound shoes to her local cobbler to create additional pairs in more colors - and so was the start of the classic Jack Rogers sandal.
